No, this verseis talking <strong>to</strong> every born-again believer and commissioningmen and women—both young andold—<strong>to</strong> share <strong>the</strong> Good News of Jesus Christwith <strong>the</strong> people around <strong>the</strong>m.It is up <strong>to</strong> all of us <strong>to</strong> build <strong>the</strong>Church. A pas<strong>to</strong>r alone can’t get <strong>the</strong> jobdone. How can we accomplish this task?We can get <strong>the</strong> job done by evangelizing,encouraging, and edifying.First: We Build <strong>the</strong> ChurchThrough EvangelismThe Church of <strong>the</strong> Lord Jesus Christ willbe built first through evangelism. The apostlePaul said that he was compelled <strong>to</strong> preach <strong>the</strong>Gospel (1 Cor. 9:16). Preaching <strong>the</strong> Gospel was<strong>the</strong> purpose for his life. ealize that <strong>the</strong>ir main purpose in lifeis <strong>to</strong> share <strong>the</strong> Gospel with o<strong>the</strong>rs. Allbelievers are called <strong>to</strong> preach and demonstrate<strong>the</strong> Gospel of our Savior.People everywhere need <strong>to</strong> knowthat Jesus is alive and that He is still<strong>the</strong> answer <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir problems. Manyunbelievers don’t think that God canmove miraculously on <strong>the</strong>ir behalf.O<strong>the</strong>rs may have heard about <strong>the</strong> miraclesthat Jesus did when He was on<strong>the</strong> earth but do not believe anythinglike that can happen <strong>to</strong>day. You and Ineed <strong>to</strong> show those who are lost thatlife, power, and <strong>the</strong> miraculous are stillfound in Christ Jesus.Some people might say, “I’m notskilled at going out on <strong>the</strong> street andwitnessing <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> lost.” Well, why don’tyou start by demonstrating Jesus inyour everyday life? Living a life ofevangelism is as easy as walking inlove and living a life of faith.You see, you can preach <strong>the</strong> Gospelwith your words, but you can also preach<strong>the</strong> Gospel with your lifestyle. In fact,When witnessing <strong>to</strong>unbelievers, here are someGospel truths <strong>to</strong> share:1. Everyone is a sinner, withouthope and without God.For all have sinned, and come shor<strong>to</strong>f <strong>the</strong> glory of God (Rom. 3:23).2. God does not want anyone <strong>to</strong>perish.For God so loved <strong>the</strong> world, tha<strong>the</strong> gave his only begotten Son, thatwhosoever believeth in him shouldnot perish, but have everlasting life(John 3:16).FAITH IN ACTIONSharing ChristWith O<strong>the</strong>rs3. Jesus’ death on <strong>the</strong> Cross paid<strong>the</strong> penalty for sin.But God commendeth his love<strong>to</strong>ward us, in that, while we were yetsinners, Christ died for us. Much more<strong>the</strong>n, being now justified by his blood,we shall be saved from wrath throughhim (Rom. 5:8–9).5. Salvation is received through faith.That if thou shalt confess withthy mouth <strong>the</strong> Lord Jesus, and shaltbelieve in thine heart that God hathraised him from <strong>the</strong> dead, thou shaltbe saved. For with <strong>the</strong> heart manbelieveth un<strong>to</strong> righteousness; andwith <strong>the</strong> mouth confession is madeun<strong>to</strong> salvation (Rom. 10:9–10).<strong>to</strong> church? If you want <strong>to</strong> have a tremendousexperience, bring a co-worker,a neighbor, or even <strong>the</strong> clerk from <strong>the</strong>grocery s<strong>to</strong>re <strong>to</strong> church and watch <strong>the</strong>mreceive Christ!Of course, you don’t have <strong>to</strong> wait <strong>to</strong>bring someone <strong>to</strong> your church <strong>to</strong> lead<strong>the</strong>m <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lord. Share Christ withyour co-workers, <strong>the</strong> mailman, <strong>the</strong>extermina<strong>to</strong>r, or whomever. You comein contact with people every day whoneed Jesus. The altar at <strong>the</strong> front of<strong>the</strong> church isn’t <strong>the</strong> only place a personcan give his or her life <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lord.And one of <strong>the</strong> greatest feelings youwill experience is found in praying <strong>the</strong>sinner’s prayer with someone meetingChrist for <strong>the</strong> first time.Second: We Build <strong>the</strong>Church ThroughEncouragementFirst, <strong>the</strong> Church will be builtthrough evangelism. Second, <strong>the</strong>Church of <strong>the</strong> Lord Jesus Christ willbe built through encouragement.The apostle Paul started manychurches. After <strong>the</strong> churches wereestablished, Paul moved on <strong>to</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r<strong>to</strong>wns. But he often returned <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>churches he started and streng<strong>the</strong>ned<strong>the</strong> believers in <strong>the</strong> things of God.ACTS 14:21–22 (NIV)21 . . .
