Medical services in the area revolve around the <strong>Drayton</strong><br />
<strong>Valley</strong> & District Health Centre. Opened in 1984, the facility<br />
is equipped with 50 Acute Care beds and 50 Long-Term Care<br />
beds, with medical services provided by a staff <strong>of</strong> 14<br />
physicians. The hospital <strong>of</strong>fers a full range <strong>of</strong> clinical services<br />
to the community and also <strong>of</strong>fers a range <strong>of</strong> following<br />
specialized services. Emergency wait times at the hospital<br />
also prove to be shorter than those in larger population areas.<br />
Services <strong>of</strong>fered include: Dialysis Unit, Diabetes Education,<br />
<strong>Community</strong> Cancer Centre, Operating Room Services, Telehealth,<br />
Serenity House, Assisted Living/Supportive Housing,<br />
Seniors Wellness Program, Physical Therapy, Occupational<br />
Therapy, Respiratory Therapy and Social Work.<br />
The hospital also boasts a helipad used mostly by S.T.A.R.S.<br />
Air Ambulance. Travel time to the University <strong>of</strong> Alberta<br />
Hospital is only 17 minutes by S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance.<br />
