Osceola Gymnasiumon July 3.Open to <strong>Seminole</strong> Tribal citizens and invitedguests only, the tournament drew a large crowd of participantsand spect<strong>at</strong>ors eager to take part in one oftheir favorite pastimes. Twenty tables saw continuousaction throughout the day and evening.The senior men and women had their own 8-BallDivision, with many of the seniors returning for achance to compete in the adult play. The teams forScotch Doubles showed no distinction for age and frequentlypaired up adult and senior players for someexciting games.Judy Weeks(L-R) Raymond Garza Jr. and Mondo Tiger examine their clubs.Judy WeeksRicky Doctor’s careful scrutiny of each shot helps him placesecond in the Two Man Scramble.First place went to Charlie Cypress and DuanePr<strong>at</strong>t by a very small margin, with Ricky Doctor andRaymond Garza Jr. coming in second. Partners RaymondGarza Sr. and Manuel Tiger filled the third slotwith Bruce Pr<strong>at</strong>t and Keeno King completing the roster.A favorite course for many of the Tribal players,Heritage Bay has 27 holes of beautifully maintainedfairways and is one of the newest facilities within theirplaying radius. The Fourth of July Tournament teed offon the second nine holes known as The Pines, and thenbacktracked to the front nine to play The Oaks for thecompletion of the game.Good fortune followed the contestants around thecourse with plenty of sunshine and a gentle breezethroughout the round of golf. However, the playersw<strong>at</strong>ched the sky closely as menacing dark cloudsformed several times and then drifted off to the eastwithout incident.Returning to the club house for a buffet luncheonand tabul<strong>at</strong>ion of scores, the players got under coverjust in time for the arrival of the impending storm.Results of the Fourth ofJuly Pool Tournament8-Ball: Senior Women: 1.
