Meet the Participants (Continued)Mr Graham Trevor MyersA senior lecturer at the Durban University of Technology in International Taxation, Graham Meyershas been instrumental in piloting Research Methodology to large numbers of students from diversebackgrounds through electronic methods. At present he lectures in Finance, Research Methods andInternational Taxation.Born in Piet Retief his voyage took him from a farm where the majority of people spoke SiSwati, tothe local primary school where instruction was in Afrikaans. After this he spent three years in a German farm school andfinally at high school he received his education in English at Pretoria Boys High and then at Ixopo High.His studies at the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg resulted in a B Sc in soils and a Higher Diploma in Education.From the Durban Campus he continued with a B Com in Accounting and Economics followed by a B Ed in Counselling andEducational Management. A national Higher Diploma in Taxation from Technikon Natal followed, and then an MBA from theUniversity of Wales. His doctoral research is in Attitudes and Knowledge of Taxation of South Africans.As Director of Development, Myers was involved in the establishment of satellite campuses for Technikon Natal, whichopened access for many students to tertiary education. He has also been involved in union work and service to variousorganisations including sport.20
