<strong>SC</strong>-<strong>FDMA</strong> Modulation<strong>SC</strong>-<strong>FDMA</strong> is a new multiple access technique that utilizes s<strong>in</strong>gle carrier modulation, DFTspreadorthogonal frequency multiplex<strong>in</strong>g, and frequency doma<strong>in</strong> equalization. It has asimilar structure and performance as OFDM. <strong>SC</strong>-<strong>FDMA</strong> is currently adopted as the upl<strong>in</strong>kmultiple access scheme for 3GPP <strong>LTE</strong>. Transmitter and receiver structure for <strong>SC</strong>-<strong>FDMA</strong> andOFDM are given <strong>in</strong> Figures 4 and 5. It is evident from the figures that <strong>SC</strong>-<strong>FDMA</strong> transceiverhas similar structure as a typical OFDM system except the addition of a new DFT blockbefore subcarrier mapp<strong>in</strong>g.
