In otherwords, the IP address areas for NAT can remain constant within amachine, however, the addresses for the higher-level automationnetwork are renamed or substituted.A great combinationThe FL NAT SMN 8TX is the first combination device that combinesthe switch mechanism (at Layer 2 level) and routing (at Layer 3 level).In the past, two devices were required and this meant double theinstallation width during installation and twice the cost forprocurement; the NAT switch now offers a highly functional device atan attractive price.

Switch functions, such as port mirroring, Link Layer DiscoveryProtocol (LLDP) or redundancy mechanisms, ensure the usual highlevel of performance for data communication on seven 100 Mbps portsin a LAN network, i.e., the internal machine network.The WAN port is used for NAT translation in the higher-level companynetwork, i.e., the WAN network.
