A total of5,000 mangrove propagules of Rhizophora apiculata wereplanted. The planting distance adopted was 2m x 2m. In 2008 the whole area was planted with approximately 20,000mangroves seedlings and propagules at Padas Damit FR. Theplanting distance adopted was (2m X 2m) and (3m X 3m). Thesurvival rate observed was 75%. Replanting (or the beating upprocedure) was carried out by an appointed contractor. Propagulesand seedlings of Bakau Kurap (Rhizophora mucronata) and BakauMinyak (Rhizophora apiculata) were used as planting material.198 Annual Report 2008
