STP · Twin Propeller<strong>IN</strong>STALLATION <strong>IN</strong> THE WATEROR DRY-DOCKThe STP can be installed in a dry-dock from below with the aidof a flange. When installed from below, the STP can be eitherbolted or welded to the flange.Installation from above is also possible, thus the unit can beinstalled even if the vessel is already afloat. Optimallyadapted data exchange between the different components(propulsion units and joystick or steering console) is thereforetop priority. A further priority is a user interface that is asintuitive as possible, enabling safe manoeuvring even withfrequent changes of master. Here too, <strong>SC</strong>HO<strong>TTEL</strong> steeringsystems set the course, both literally and figuratively.The different operating and control modes as well as manyother options are selected via a steering console. The use offreely programmable microcontroller circuit boards with anintegrated field bus and industry-standard interfaces providesa high degree of flexibility and operational reliability. Oursystems give the ship’s master the optimal “tool” for simpleand safe navigation, manoeuvring and positioning of the vessel.In close cooperation, electronics engineers and propulsionspecialists develop complete steering and control systems(SST) custom-tailored for every application. Our product rangecovers everything from simple, manually-operated wheelscoupled directly to the propulsion unit, right up to the remotecontrolledcomputerized joystick of the Masterstick system. Ajoystick is used to control up to ten propulsion units, steeringthe vessel in the given direction and with the desired rotation.High-performance steering
