Community ContributionsIn July, a representative team from Club Kilsyth and the Kilsyth and Mountain District Basketball Association attended areception at the Maroondah Hospital to view the new equipment purchased from funds raised from the Annual Golf CharityDay in March. The fundraising profits earned from the Golf Day enabled the purchase of a suite of equipment for the Maroondah OperatingTheatre including an anaesthetic trolley, urology trolley, plastics trolley, anaesthetic drug storage trolleys, camera headsand light, and hydraulic instrument rack trolley. Pictured above is Ben Turner from the Kilsyth and Mountain DistrictBasketball Association trialling the new equipment at the Maroondah HospitalOver the past year or so The Manchester Primary School has seen a decline in the interest of the after School Basketballprogram. The School planned to re-launch it’s after School Basketball program at a weekly school assembly hopeful togain more interest from the students. However, the uniforms were purchased many years ago and looked somewhat likefootball jumpers, not to mention they looked very worn and tired. So, with the generous help of Club Kilsyth and the KilsythBasketball Association the program has undergone a renaissance with funding to purchase new uniforms and basketballs(see above). The re-launch of the after School Basketball program and presentation of the new uniforms has sparked theinterest of many students and has increased the number of teams participating in the after School Basketball competition.“Thank You Club Kilsyth” - Janet Haase (Principal Manchester Primary School)4.www.clubkilsyth.com.auClub News Edition 6 October 2009.indd 424/09/2009 2:41:12 PM
