Priceless!On February 28,more than 100volunteers,their spouses,and <strong>Park</strong> staffcelebrated atthe <strong>MacArthur</strong><strong>Beach</strong> <strong>State</strong><strong>Park</strong> Annual Vol- unteer AwardsDinner, held at the North Palm <strong>Beach</strong> CountryClub. Thirty-two volunteers were honored, whohave given a total of 10,350 hours of serviceto the <strong>Park</strong>, whether driving the tram, leadingnature walks, teaching children, serving on the FriendsBoard of Directors, or assisting in the Nature Center.Board member, Larry Harjehausen, who began hisvolunteer career at the <strong>Park</strong> as a Friday morning tram driverin 1991, received his 3000 hour pin. Running a close secondwas nature walk leader, Florida historian, and wonderfulstory teller, Dan West, with 2500 hours. Sunday morningtram driver Dick Weiser has given 2000 hours sincehe joined the <strong>Park</strong> in 1990. Joan Edelman has spent 1500hours assisting Wednesday morning visitors at the NatureCenter. <strong>John</strong> Murray has driven the tram for 1000 hourson Thursday mornings.
