The bookend <strong>to</strong> Music & More Production’s<br />
Kickoff <strong>to</strong> Summer, Last Blast is a weekend of<br />
live music from <strong>to</strong>p local bands <strong>to</strong> <strong>to</strong>uring national<br />
acts. This year, Last Blast parties at the Town<br />
Clock with two days of rock including party band<br />
the Love Monkeys, Snidley Whiplash and Crystal<br />
Leather on Friday night and ‘80s nerd-rockers<br />
The Spazmatics with local rockers Johnny Trash<br />
and Menace on Saturday.<br />
2012 “KID’S DAY”<br />
Saturday, August 18th<br />
The mission of “Kid’s Day” is <strong>to</strong> pass on our<br />
love of fishing <strong>to</strong> kids. Kids Day provides 100<br />
students (Grades 4, 5, & 6) from the Tri-State<br />
area (IA, WI, & IL) an opportunity <strong>to</strong> spend a<br />
day on the river with a local angler. And <strong>to</strong><br />
add some extra excitement <strong>to</strong> it, we make it<br />
a <strong>to</strong>urnament.<br />
To be eligible, each student is required <strong>to</strong> prepare<br />
an essay on “Why I want <strong>to</strong> go fishing”.<br />
The <strong>to</strong>p 100 essay winners are teamed with<br />
the club’s pros <strong>to</strong> fish <strong>for</strong> four hours on the<br />
Mississippi River. Students are given a new rod<br />
& reel combination, tackle box & tackle, Kid’s<br />
Day T-shirt, continental breakfast and lunch.<br />
Plaques are given <strong>to</strong> the <strong>to</strong>p ten teams and<br />
big fish plaques are also awarded.<br />
