DUBUQUE FINE ARTS PLAYERS’<br />
ONE-ACTS<br />
Friday-Saturday, August 24 & 25<br />
Established in 1977, <strong>Dubuque</strong> Fine Arts<br />
Players’ one-act play contest is the oldest in<br />
the United States. The contest now receives<br />
entries from around the country and around<br />
the world. Each year, approximately 150 entries<br />
are judged and the best three have their<br />
world premiere productions in the fall. This year<br />
three comedies will be premiered: I Can Feel It<br />
Coming On by Carl Williams of Hous<strong>to</strong>n, TX,<br />
directed by Melissa McGuire; Raising Zombie<br />
Awareness by Chris<strong>to</strong>pher Morse of Idyllwild,<br />
CA, directed by Michele McKinlay; and Divorce<br />
First Class by Geophrey Craig of Great<br />
Barring<strong>to</strong>n, MA, directed by Bill Hoerstman.<br />
The premieres will take place at 7:30 p.m. at<br />
Mindframe Theaters, 555 JF Kennedy Rd. For<br />

POTOSI BREWFEST<br />

Po<strong>to</strong>si Brewery hosts the fourth annual Po<strong>to</strong>si<br />
Brewfest at the Holiday Gardens Event Center<br />
in Po<strong>to</strong>si, Wisconsin on Saturday, August 25<br />
from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Admission <strong>to</strong> the festival<br />
includes an opportunity <strong>to</strong> sample the work of<br />
several craft brewers, home brewers, wineries,<br />
and Wisconsin cheeses, plus live music,<br />
a <strong>to</strong>ur of the National Brewery Museum, and<br />
a commemorative tasting glass. This year’s<br />
band is Mr. Baber’s Neighbors: The Solar<br />

DICKEYVILLE-KIELER LION’S CLUB<br />
END OF SUMMER FEST<br />
Saturday, August 25<br />
The is year the event is at James<strong>to</strong>wn Park in<br />
Kieler. If the ban is lifted, the Fireworks Extravaganza<br />
will take place. The Dickeyville-Kieler<br />
Lion’s Club will also sponsor family-oriented<br />
events in the afternoon starting at 4:00 p.m.<br />

balloon animals. Food and beverages will be<br />
available on the grounds. Live music and a DJ<br />
will also be featured. The fireworks will begin at<br />
