Jobseeker’s supportsWhere a person is in receipt <strong>of</strong> a rate <strong>of</strong> Jobseeker’s Allowance applicable topersons aged under 25 (as outlined in the table on page 45) and he or sheparticipates in a course <strong>of</strong> education, training or Community Employment, thefull normal rate <strong>of</strong> payment applicable to that course/scheme appl<strong>ie</strong>s withoutany reduction for persons aged under 25.Where a person is under 25 and has completed such a course <strong>of</strong> education,training or Community Employment, they will revert to the age related rate <strong>of</strong>Jobseeker’s Allowance, €100.00 or €150.00, if they had previously been inreceipt <strong>of</strong> that rate.Specific provisions for claimants aged 22 – 24Where a claimant <strong>of</strong> Jobseeker’s Allowance is aged 22 - 24 years <strong>of</strong> age, the rateapplicable to 22 - 24 year olds shown above does not apply where:• The period <strong>of</strong> unemployment commenced on or before December 30,2009.• The claimant is participating in the Work Placement programme operatedby FAS.Specific provisions for claimants aged 18 – 21Where a claimant <strong>of</strong> Jobseeker’s Allowance is aged under 18 - 21 years, the rateapplicable to 18 to 21 year olds shown above does not apply where/to:• The period <strong>of</strong> unemployment commenced on or before December 30,2009.• The claimant was aged 18 or 19 on December 30, 2009 and the period <strong>of</strong>unemployment commenced on or before April 29, 2009.• Certain people who were in the care <strong>of</strong> the HSE during the period <strong>of</strong> 12months before he or she attained the age <strong>of</strong> 18.‡ If you were in receipt <strong>of</strong> Jobseeker’s Allowance prior to 26 September 2007, you mayget a reduced rate increase if your spouse or partner has earnings or income in excess<strong>of</strong> €100.00 and up to €310.00 gross per week, (see pages 52-58).*You can get an increase <strong>of</strong> €29.80 for each qualif<strong>ie</strong>d child if you qualify for an increasefor a qualif<strong>ie</strong>d adult or if you are parenting alone. If you do not qualify for an increasefor a qualif<strong>ie</strong>d adult, you may get a half-rate qualif<strong>ie</strong>d child increase.46
