Multi-family housing includes rooming houses, plexes, apartments, townhouses, and condominiums.There are 39 apartment complexes (five units or more) which make up approximately35.65 percent <strong>of</strong> all multi-family units in West <strong>Las</strong> <strong>Vegas</strong> (this does not include <strong>Las</strong> <strong>Vegas</strong>Housing Authority properties). This is not unusual since the population in West <strong>Las</strong> <strong>Vegas</strong> has decreased by 1.44percent since 1970, as noted in the Socio-Economic Characteristics <strong>section</strong>, and the number <strong>of</strong>housing units has increased by 27.13 percent for that same period.West <strong>Las</strong> <strong>Vegas</strong> also has a predominance <strong>of</strong> renter occupied units; 56.2 percent <strong>of</strong> all housingunits are renter occupied, considerably higher than the 45.1 percent in <strong>Las</strong> <strong>Vegas</strong>.
