The VVP concept has the follow<strong>in</strong>g capabilities [16]:<br />

� Individual <strong>renewable</strong> distributed genera<strong>to</strong>rs will be able <strong>to</strong> ga<strong>in</strong> access and visibility across all<br />

the <strong>energy</strong> markets, and will benefit <strong>from</strong> VPP market <strong>in</strong>telligence <strong>in</strong> order <strong>to</strong> optimize their<br />

position and maximize revenue opportunities.<br />

� System operation will benefit <strong>from</strong> optimal use of all available capacity and <strong>in</strong>creased<br />

efficiency of operation.<br />

From the Market Orientated Smart Grid perspective this concept has a lot of benefits. First of all,<br />

s<strong>in</strong>ce the system trades <strong>in</strong> the <strong>energy</strong> market itself consumers no longer have <strong>to</strong> pay <strong>energy</strong><br />

companies <strong>to</strong> do this. Besides that, consumers can profit by provid<strong>in</strong>g ancillary services like reactive<br />

power control and balanc<strong>in</strong>g power.<br />
