After graduating from the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Westminster</strong> with a LLB. degree, sheundertook a Masters degree in Law (LL.M) at the London School <strong>of</strong> Economics andPolitical Science in years 2005/06, with a focus on international and human rightslaw. Her interest in the death penalty was demonstrated with a 15,000 worddissertation on capital punishment litigation in the Commonwealth Caribbean.Lina has been involved with the Centre’s activities intermittently for some time,starting with work as volunteer researcher in 2003. She undertook a CCPS internshipin 2004 at the Independent Jamaica Council for Human Rights in Kingston, Jamaica.The work included assisting prisoners on death row with their appeals to the PrivyCouncil, dealing with general human rights issues and enquiries as well as research.3
