Santa Fe Animal Shelter/Paws in the Pantry Program Application Guidelines The following guidelines must be read and agreed to in order for a household to receive food or litter assistance. By following these guidelines we are able to help as many people as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at (505) 983-‐4309 x606/610. • One applicant per household. The Paws in the Pantry program is for Santa Fe County residents only. • Owner must provide proof that each pet in the household is spayed/neutered, has a current rabies vaccination and city/county license. We offer low-‐cost spay/neuter and vaccination options for unaltered pets. • We ask for a donation at the time you receive food — whatever amount you can afford — but we do not require it. • We strive to provide a two-‐week supply of pet food per household. Clients may return twice in one month, receiving assistance for up to three months. After that, the client needs to reapply. • We offer temporary assistance for feeding pets. We are not to be used as a permanent source of pet food. • We ask for personal information when one applies but do not share it with anyone and all information is kept strictly confidential. • We do not accept special requests. We are only able to give the brand or type of pet food and litter that we have available at the time. • We will not provide pet food for those intentionally breeding their animals. • The pet food program is for private individuals in need and not for rescue groups. • We accept all kinds of pet food; please know that a change in diet may cause stomach upset. By accepting food and/or services from the Shelter, the recipient, all household members, their friends and family agree not to hold the Shelter, its staff, volunteers, and benefactors legally liable in the unfortunate event the recipient's pet(s) becomes ill or the food upsets the pet's stomach. • We reserve the right to refuse anyone under any circumstance. If you'd like to receive assistance, please proceed to our Application.
