2. MATERIALS AND METHODS2.1. Seed sourceSeeds for both eucalypts and acacia provenance trials were provided by AustralianTree Seed Centre, CSIRO Division of <strong>Forest</strong> <strong>Research</strong>, Canberra, Australia during 1989,1992 and 1993. The Australian provenances, having adaptability potentials in <strong>Kerala</strong> Statewere selected based on comparison of <strong>Kerala</strong> climate and geography with ecological factorsof the locality of seed origin in Australia such as altitude and rainfall.2.2.
