Interruption of Existing Specialty and Medical Gas Service(s): Do not interrupt specialty ormedical gas service to facilities occupied by Owner or others unless permitted under thefollowing conditions and then only after arranging to provide temporary service according torequirements indicated:1. Notify Construction Manager and Owner no fewer than two weeks in advance ofproposed interruption of specialty and medical gas service(s).2. Do not proceed with interruption of specialty and medical gas service(s) withoutConstruction Manager's and Owner's written permission.1.8 COORDINATIONA. Coordinate size and location of concrete bases. Cast anchor-bolt inserts into bases. Concrete,reinforcement, and formwork requirements are specified in Division 03.B. Coordinate medical gas service connections with other service connections. Compressed-airservice connections are specified in Division 22 Sections "Compressed-Air Piping forLaboratory and Healthcare Facilities" and "Vacuum Piping for Laboratory and HealthcareFacilities."PART 2 - PRODUCTS2.1 PIPES, TUBES, <strong>AND</strong> FITTINGSA. Aboveground Copper Medical Gas Tube: ASTM B 819, Type L, seamless, drawn temper thathas been manufacturer cleaned, purged, and sealed for medical gas service or according toCGA G-4.1 for oxygen service. Include standard color marking "OXY," "MED,""OXY/MED," "OXY/ACR," or "ACR/MED" in blue for Type L tube.1. General Requirements for Copper Fittings: Manufacturer cleaned, purged, and baggedfor oxygen service according to CGA G-4.1.2. Wrought-Copper Fittings: ASME B16.22, solder-joint pressure type or MSS SP-73, withdimensions for brazed joints.3. Copper Unions: ASME B16.22 or MSS SP-123, wrought copper or cast-copper alloy.B. Underground Copper Medical Gas Tube: Gas service piping shall be ASTM B819, Type K,seamless, drawn-temper that has been manufacturer cleaned, purged and sealed for medical gasservice or according to CGA G4.1 and G4.4 for oxygen pipelines systems/service. Includestandard color marking "OXY," "MED," "OXY/MED," "OXY/ACR," or "ACR/MED" in bluefor Type L tube. Carrier piping shall be Schedule 40 PVC with socket-type solvent weldedfittings and PVC gas service pipe center-guide support fittings as manufactured by IPEX'Custom Guard' or Owner-approved equal.1.
