After six yearsserving on the Foundation Board, Judymoved on to serve on the OPRS/MPSSBoard of Directors.“We are a business – and a verywell-run business,” Judy is quoted sayingin the campaign case for support. “Butit doesn’t feel like one. It has the feelingof family: an outward show of love, aChristian spirit. There’s just somethingdifferent in the air. And that’s the reasonwhy so many of us in leadership rolesremain involved so long.”When asked why she decided to lendher support to this statewide campaign,Judy answered without hesitation:“Given our history and the fine reputationOPRS enjoys, this campaign offersmarvelous opportunities not only tostabilize the services we offer, but alsoto paint a very bright picture of greathope for our residents and clients. Thecampaign is adding amenities and valueto the system. It’s exciting. Each localcampaign is tailored to its own needs, butit also undergirds our overall strengthand stability throughout the state.”Sue Mooney is also truly excitedabout co-chairing the statewide capitalcampaign. So much so, that she has alsovolunteered to serve as the HonoraryCo-Chair of the Westminster-Thurbercampaign.Her association with OPRS beganwhen her mother became a resident atWestminster-Thurber nearly 14 years ago.Almost instantly she became involved byvolunteering her time and energy. Suehas chaired the Westminster-ThurberPhilanthropy Committee, the Keeping thePromise endowment campaign committeefor Westminster-Thurber, and the OPRSFoundation Board.“OPRS is just an incredible organization,”Sue shared. “The care my motherreceived at Westminster-Thurber duringthe last five years of her life not onlyenhanced the end of her life, but addedto the quality of the time that I was ableto share with my mother during her finalyears. I want to make sure that the lastpiece of life will be as full and abundantas possible for the greatest number ofolder adults.”Sue believes in the benefits that willbe provided to our residents and clientsthrough this campaign. “I’ve served alot of organizations as a volunteer; thestaff and volunteers within the OPRSsystem are such a special group of people.I enjoy so much working with all thepeople of the Foundation. Plus, servingas co-chair of this campaign gives me thechance to interface with residents, volunteersand staff of all of our communities.I’m really enjoying that.”We are excited to have such enthusiasticvolunteers help lead our campaignefforts.
