<strong>WE</strong>-<strong>EF</strong>’s IOS Innovative Optical System has been developed to satisfy two specific requirements;<br />
the first relating to the various international lighting standards that prescribe performance<br />
and focus on public amenity and safety issues; the second being the wide range<br />
of customised solutions that are typically the domain of the lighting design professional.<br />
IOS is a complete system with a comprehensive set of solutions, including optical accessory<br />
toolkits that are purpose designed, engineered and tested.<br />
IOS Innovative Optical System applies across the <strong>WE</strong>-<strong>EF</strong> range of luminaires and includes:<br />
- In-house CAD design, optimised for ceramic metal halide lamps<br />
- High photometric performance, beam efficiency and control<br />
- Superior glare control and visual comfort through appropriate lamp shielding angles<br />

- Precision formed reflectors made from anodised high purity aluminium<br />

In street and area lighting applications, IOS features full cut-off light distribution in compliance<br />
with European standard EN 13201:<br />
- Zero light emission above the 90° horizontal<br />
- Tightly controlled ‘candela’ intensities in the critical high-angle glare zone at 80-90°<br />

<strong>WE</strong>-<strong>EF</strong>’s IOS Innovative Optical System is specifically designed to operate with ceramic<br />
metal halide lamps. Traditional reflector systems designed to operate with conventional<br />
quartz metal halide and high pressure sodium lamps will not provide optimised performance<br />
with ceramic metal halide; the smaller size arc tube can lead to altered distributions,<br />
