Supported by ongoing innovative product development For superior photometric performance in the various horizontal, vertical and spatial lighting applications, WE-EF’s proprietary IOS Innovative Optical System approach addresses today’s need for energy efficient, controlled light distribution while making the utmost use of state-of-the-art light sources. Optimised for the latest generation of ceramic metal halide lamps, IOS optics and reflector systems are CAD designed and precision manufactured. The result is that IOS delivers on a range of critical performance criteria including beam efficiencies, glare control, visual comfort, light trespass, upward waste light or ‘dark skies’ concerns. IOS is a complete system that includes optical accessory toolkits and a comprehensive set of solutions that are typically the domain of the lighting design professional. 4 The Modern Classic series integrates additional key WE-EF product innovations including the CTA ® Cool Touch Adaptor, ASC ® Anti Slip Coating and WE-EF CONTROL ® . Intense heat and the hazard of touch on the lens surface of inground uplights are reduced with a CTA ® Cool Touch Adaptor, while the ASC ® Anti Slip Coating provides protection from injury in pedestrian traffic areas. WE-EF CONTROL ® is a powerful lighting control system for LED luminaires. Comprising both hardware and software, the system is user-friendly and provides a multitude of programming options.
The IOS Innovative Optical System applies across a wide range of WE-EF luminaires. In addition to high photometric performance, the system features appropriate shielding angles and, for street and area lighting in particular, zero light emission above the 90° horizontal as well as tightly controlled ‘candela’ intensities in critical high-angle glare zones. The optional CTA ® Cool Touch Adaptor (shown at right) provides a significant reduction in glass surface temperature of inground uplights, while maintaining high LOR (light output ratio).
