A SUMMARY OF THE REMUNERATION PACKAGE2<strong>AusAID</strong>’s aim is to be an employer of choice offering excellent conditions ofemployment. Shown below are some of the key aspects of the remuneration packageoffered for the vacancy:Contract term - The position is ‘on-going’ (permanent) following completion of aprobation period of six (6) months.Salary - The salary range for this position is FJD$46,154 – FJD$61,764. The salaryoffered to the successful applicant will be commensurate with experience andqualifications.Superannuation - <strong>AusAID</strong> will contribute 8% to the FNPF.Annual Leave - 20 days annual leave per year. In addition to this entitlement <strong>AusAID</strong>closes its <strong>Suva</strong> office between Christmas and New Year. Employees are not requiredto take leave over this period (effectively creating a 23 day recreation leaveentitlement).Personal Circumstances Leave (Sick Leave and Carer’s Leave) – Employees areentitled to 18 days personal leave.Long Service Leave - For ongoing employees the long service leave entitlement isas follows:(a)(b)(c)after 15 years continuous service - 20 working days;after 25 years continuous service - 20 working days;after each succeeding five years continuous service - 20 working days.Travel – In addition to travel allowances employees are entitled to travel in BusinessClass on flights that are longer than 3 hours.Maternity Leave – 13 weeks maternity leave on full pay is available after an initialqualifying period of 5 months.Access to Adoption Leave, Parental Leave and Special Leave.Health Insurance – <strong>AusAID</strong> will pay 75% of the premium of a medical insurance planwith QBE Insurance (<strong>Fiji</strong>) Limited. This premium cover includes ‘Private HospitalExtension’ which means members will be automatically treated at private facilities,including <strong>Suva</strong> Private Hospital, without a requirement to go to CWM first. TheMedivac destination for any overseas treatment is Australia or NZ.Worker’s Compensation - <strong>AusAID</strong> enrols employees in a worker’s compensationscheme that covers the employee for illness, injury, or injury resulting in death, arisingin the course of providing services under their contract.Career Path - Based on performance and future vacancies promotions to Senior<strong>Program</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> level may be possible.

About <strong>Suva</strong> <strong>Hub</strong>4<strong>Suva</strong> is one of six posts in the region. The Development Cooperation Section hasbeen established as a regional/multi-country hub and will assume greaterresponsibility in managing the significantly expanded operations of Australia’s aidprogram. Australia’s aid program is currently scaling-up and the focus is ondelivering more effective aid – particularly working through program basedapproaches, using partner government systems and delivering with and throughother donors.The <strong>Suva</strong> office will directly manage Pacific regional programs and bilateral aidprograms to <strong>Fiji</strong>, Kiribati, Tonga and Tuvalu, with senior-level oversight of bilateralaid programs to Samoa and Vanuatu. The <strong>Suva</strong> office also provides corporateenabling support to Pacific posts.The <strong>Suva</strong> post currently has 8 A-based staff and 28 locally-engaged staff. All staff in<strong>Suva</strong> work in a team based environment. Oversight of the <strong>Suva</strong> post’s operations isundertaken by an A-based officer at Minister–Counsellor level. This position issupported by two A-based Counsellor level positions.Job DescriptionThe <strong>Program</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> Climate Change and Environment manages a range ofRegional Environment and Climate Change <strong>Program</strong>s including the provision ofsupport to the International Climate Change and Adaption initiative.In managing these responsibilities the <strong>Program</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> will:1. Manage a complex project(s) providing high level advice and expertise todeliver key developmental outcomes. Monitor the performance of complexproject(s) and participate in monitoring and review activities.2. Manage <strong>AusAID</strong>’s relationship with counterparts and key stakeholdersincluding detailed consultation and liaison with both internal and externalstakeholders. Participate in forums and high level meetings and, asappropriate developing strong formal and informal relationships with seniorpartner government officials, other donors and stakeholders for bilateral andregional activities.3. Manage complex contracts and monitor contractor performance. Undertakecontract administration, the resolution of problems, the management ofcontract variations and amendments, the maintenance of contract-relatedrecords and ensure that <strong>AusAID</strong> meets its contractual obligations.4. Manage the finances of activities and, where necessary, human resources.Prepare financial estimates, coordinate budgets, maintain financial records andanalyse / monitor expenditure.5.
