Programming SoftwareThe power and simplicity of the PneuAlpha2 Controller stems from the easy to use programming software, running on a PC.Function blocks are placed on this function block diagram (FBD) using drag and drop. Blocks, inputs and outputs areconnected and the program can be tested before simple download to the PneuAlpha2 Controller.The programming functions listed on the following page are available for use with the PneuAlpha2, maximum program sizeis 200 blocks. User functions can also be defined and boolean programming utilised.SimulationA completed program can be tested before downloading into a PneuAlpha2 by using the simulation function. Active programlines turn red, and digital and analogue inputs can be simulated, in addition time switches can be ‘forced’ on and off for acomprehensive test.MonitoringOnce the program has been downloaded and has started running, the programming software can be used to monitor inreal time what is happening. Input and output status plus counters, timers, delays etc can be seen on screen. This is oftenused at the final stage of commissioning.Process VisualisationAs an extension to the monitoring function, a process diagram can be created within the PNAL-VLS software. So valves,tanks, motors, lights and similar elements can be drawn. This way a graphic view of the process or system under controlcan be seen, instead of anonymous, inputs and outputs.Page 10
