The final draft <strong>of</strong> the strategicplan will be presented to the board at the June 2012 board meeting and must <strong>of</strong>ficially be submitted on July6, 2012. The following documents are provided for your review:Strategic Plan Project Plan. This document is provided for reference purposes and provides themaster project plan for production <strong>of</strong> the agency strategic plan. It details the range <strong>of</strong> responsibilitiesand tasks for each division. Progress toward completion <strong>of</strong> tasks is shown on the document.Summary <strong>of</strong> CJPO Summit Focus Groups Discussion. The Chief <strong>Juvenile</strong> Probation <strong>Office</strong>r Summitwas held on February 8, 2012 and five focus groups were facilitated to discuss three major areas (i.e.,prevention and early intervention, mental health services, and establishing a continuum <strong>of</strong> youthservices). The attached document reflects a preliminary synopsis/analysis <strong>of</strong> the comments receivedand the emerging key concepts/themes.Summary <strong>of</strong> Stakeholder Survey Results. Over 1,100 stakeholder surveys were completed andsubmitted to <strong>TJJD</strong> during the stakeholder input phase which ended March 30, 2012. The attacheddocument reflects the results <strong>of</strong> the survey. The following themes have emerged in terms <strong>of</strong>needs/recommendations:• Effective Programs• Quality Staff (An adequate number <strong>of</strong> well-trained, competent staff)• Youth Accountability• Family Oriented Programming for Transitioning Youth out <strong>of</strong> Institutions• Prevention and Early Intervention• Critical Programs <strong>of</strong> Importance/Value (i.e., mental health, substance abuse,educational and vocational programming)The main focus <strong>of</strong> the strategic planning activities during the month <strong>of</strong> May will include producing the firstdraft <strong>of</strong> the strategic plan for review and developing the strategic initiatives/priorities for the agency forinclusion in the draft based on a comprehensive analysis <strong>of</strong> the following data inputs:• <strong>TJJD</strong> Stakeholder Survey Results• Chief <strong>Juvenile</strong> Probation <strong>Office</strong>r Summit Focus Groups Notes• Advisory Council on <strong>Juvenile</strong> Services Report• <strong>TJJD</strong> Transition Team Final Report (including Advocacy Groups written input)• <strong>TJJD</strong> Internal Strategic Program Needs Assessment• <strong>TJJD</strong> Capital Budget Requests – Facility Repairs
