Mr Settle has given us permission to invite you to be part of this research. This project will form part of MrsBoyle’s thesis, and has been approved by the University of Melbourne Human Research Ethics Committee.The aim of this study is to investigate ways of eliciting creative musical responses from students in a music classroomsetting. You can choose whether or not you want to be involved and can change your mind at any time during the project.The research has nothing to do with your grades or assessment.We will ask you to write reflective responses to music classroom activities over a period of 4 weeks. Some students willalso be asked to participate in a 30 minute interview so that we can get a more detailed picture of the factors that influenceyour creative musical responses. With your permission, the interview will be tape-recorded to ensure that we make anaccurate record of what you say.We intend to protect your anonymity and the confidentiality of your responses to the fullest possible extent, within thelimits of the law.
