Leave shall be <strong>of</strong> the follow<strong>in</strong>g categories: -1. Casual leave2. Earned leave3. Medical Leave4. Maternity leave5. Paternity leave6. Extraord<strong>in</strong>ary leave7. Duty leave8. Special leave9. Study leave10. Half-average pay leave11. Compensatory leave1. CASUAL LEAVE :Casual leave shall be on full pay for not more than 7 days <strong>in</strong> a month or 14 days <strong>in</strong> a(Academic) calendar year. It may be comb<strong>in</strong>ed with holidays. This leave cannot becarried over to the next (Academic) calendar year. The Maximum Casual Leaveavailed <strong>in</strong> cont<strong>in</strong>uation shall be 5 Days. CL, however, can neither be prefixedor suffixed with holidays. Gazette Holidays and weekends fall<strong>in</strong>g with<strong>in</strong> theperiod <strong>of</strong> Casual Leave shall not be counted as Leave provided the staffreports on duty on the first university work<strong>in</strong>g day ( explanation – 1) Sat & Sunbe<strong>in</strong>g weekend days the said period shall not be counted if the staff reports onduty on Monday.Staff members who are appo<strong>in</strong>ted on contract/adhoc basis shall be entitled only forcasual leave accord<strong>in</strong>g to the proportionate service. It will be one day for everymonth completed service and the maximum <strong>of</strong> two days casual leave can be availedat a time. They will not be entitled for any other leave except for the Universityholidays applicable as per university rules. However after complet<strong>in</strong>g two years <strong>of</strong>service without any break, such adhoc staff/employees shall be entitled for otherk<strong>in</strong>ds <strong>of</strong> leave like other regular appo<strong>in</strong>tees <strong>in</strong> their categories.Revised Leave Rule 19.4.2011 Page 3
