Purushottam,Nasser Bader Al-OraifiIn GC-21, flaring was observed (even up to 2 MMSCFD) during the first fortnight of Nov.2008.Therefore, initiative was taken to study the case and to take actions for reducing the flaring and protect theenvironment.A team comprising of PO (SK) & OTS (SK) engineers visited GC-21 and studied all the parameters fromDCS and field. Observations were recorded and analyzed.Then corrective actions (constant monitoring of flare, optimization of CRU and crude production fromGC-21) were taken. Finally, flaring was reduced, to nearly zero, leading to environment protection.
