M.Synod met according to adjournment, was calledto order by the Moderator, and was constituted withprayer by W. J. McKnight.Devotional exercises were conducted by A. A.Samson.The minutes of the preceding session were readand approved.The President of the newly organized SynodicalMissionary Society, Mrs. Myrta May Dodds, widow ofthe late Dr. J. Boggs Dodds, was presented and addressedthe court with reference to the organization andpurpose of that society.The following action was taken by Synod:We have heard with great pleasure the announcementthat the women of the church have organized aWomans Synodical Missionary Society, and expresseshearty approval of the same. This organization andits work are referred to the Central Board of Missionsand to the Foreign Board for co-operation.Rev. G. L. Brown, pastor of the United PresbyterianChurch, Bellefontaine, Ohio, was introduced to thecourt and extended the courtesies of the floor.Dr. J. R. Withrow, of the Chemistry Departmentof the Ohio State University, was introduced and addressedthe court with reference to the recently enactedOhio law requiring an oath to the Constitutionof the United States of all teachers in the State.The thanks of the court were unanimously extendedto Dr. Withrow for his address and for the interesthe has taken and the service rendered in thismatter.The report of the Board of Control was read andreferred to the committees on Finance and Nominations.The report on Unfinished Business was takenfrom the table.Item 16.—The special committee on Provision forAged Ministers reported. The report was referred tothe committees on Finance and on Forward Movementand Co-ordination.
