We are truly“BLESSED” because you are part of the VILLA FAMILY! We look forward with anticipationto the many opportunities this <strong>school</strong> year will offer your children.There are a few changes to our curriculum and staff for the <strong>2013</strong>/<strong>2014</strong> <strong>school</strong> year. Wewill continue to work on the “Common Core Curriculum” in Math and ELA in all grades.Teachers have had many workshops last year and will continue to have many workshops thiscoming <strong>school</strong> year.Mrs. Lorraine Silva will not be returning to teach at <strong>St</strong>. <strong>John</strong> <strong>Villa</strong>. She retired this year.Mrs. Silva is a great teacher and will be truly missed. We thank her for her 32 years ofdedication and loving service. We pray for her as she enjoys her family and grandchildren.Also this year, Mr. <strong>St</strong>eve Lucadamo, our Physical Education teacher retired. We thank Mr.Lucadamo for his 7 years of service at <strong>Villa</strong>.Our seventh grade homeroom teacher will be Ms. Sandra Beiro. We welcome three newmembers of the <strong>Villa</strong> Faculty:Ms. Courtney Colli – Second Grade teacherMrs. Carolyn Piccirillo – Kindergarten substitute teacher until DecemberMs. Kristie <strong>St</strong>apleton – Physical Education teacher.All the other teachers will continue teaching as they have been for the <strong>2013</strong>-<strong>2014</strong> <strong>school</strong> year.The <strong>school</strong> year will begin according to the following schedule:1) Monday, September 9 th - Grades 1-8 begin classes.- Classes begin at 7:50 a.m. and dismissed at 12:00 noon. Pioneer Bus serviceand private vans will be available. All are to be at <strong>school</strong> by 7:45a.m. to beginclass at 7:50. All students must wear the summer uniform.2) Monday, September 9 th : Pre-K Parent Orientation at 9:00 a.m. in the Pre-K Building3) Tuesday, September 10 th .- Full day session begins for Grade 1–Grade 8. Lunch program begins anddismissal at 2:15 p.m. The after <strong>school</strong> program begins for G1-8.- Half day session for Pre-K & K. Classes begin at 7:50 a.m. and dismissal at12:00 noon. No bus service for Kindergarten. All children are requiredto wear their summer uniform.- Special classes begin for G1-G8.4) Wednesday, September11 th :- Half day session for Pre-K & K and dismissal at 12 noon. Classes begin at 7:50a.m. and dismissal at 2:00 noon. No bus service for Kindergarten.

Only white sneakers may be worn for gym classes for PreK-8 th .* Please note that the T-shirt is a part of the gym uniform. This will be worn ongym days only- all year. You may purchase our fleece jacket with <strong>school</strong> logo whichis optional.8) Our lunch schedule is as follows:Lunch Period 1: Grades 2, 3, 4 11:00 – 11:45 a.m.Lunch Period 2: Grades 1, 5, 6 11:45 – 12:30 p.m.Lunch Period 3: Grades K, 7, 8 12:30 - 1:15 p.m.9) It is important that all of our students eat a good breakfast each morning. We areall part of a community of individuals and families devoted to the importance of CatholicEducation. As you and your family continue to enjoy the pleasures of summer, there will bemany people within the Catholic Education Community working long hours to ensure that our<strong>school</strong> will be ready to open again in September. We give special thanks to those in ourcommunity who so tirelessly serve our <strong>school</strong> community during the summer months.Looking forward to our first “Parent-Teacher Orientation Night” scheduled for Thursday,September 12th at 6:30 pm in the <strong>school</strong> auditorium, and then followed by classroom tour.I hope you will take every opportunity to enjoy the days of summer and provide informaltimes of learning as enrichment for your children.Know that you all will be very much in my prayers.
