The forms are due inshortly, so please do complete and return them as soon as possible.Year 8 Outdoor Education, 19-21 OctoberTim Whelan visited Gathering this week to answer questions about details of theforthcoming trips. A reminder that food lists are up on FriendsNet and that the equipmentlists were included in the original paperwork. Spare copies of these are available if neededfrom the High School Office. It is important that students undertake planning about tentgroups, equipment, clothing and food in the next few days so that they are well prepared.Please note the departure times (some of them early!) and meeting locations for each tripin the original paperwork.CLEMESLeavers’ ServiceDuring Term 3 there are a number of special functions for Year 12 students. These includethe Leavers’ Assembly, the Leavers’ Service and the Clemes Leavers’ Dinner. Moreinformation about these will be included in a letter from Tony Barrett which will be sentnext week.The Leavers’ Service will be held on Tuesday 21 October in the WN Oats Centre. Toassist with the setting up we are seeking contributions of garden flowers suitable for one ofthree large displays. If you are able to contribute or help with the displays please contactLyn Tunbridge on 6210 2255.Progress ChecksProgress checks will be completed over the next week and posted home on Monday 12October. Enclosed in these will be a letter from Tony Barrett outlining some of the majorupcoming events and expectations of our students for the remainder of the year. Pleaseread this letter carefully.Some students may be feeling under pressure at this time of the year. If parents think theirson or daughter is unduly stressed at this time please contact the School. This could beyour child's tutor, the School Counsellor, Lyn Tunbridge, Anne Lynch or Tony Barrett.TCE Examination informationThe timetable for the TCE exams is now available on the TQA website. A student guide tothe exams will be issued to the students next week. It is important for students to readthrough this so that they are familiar with the procedures and rules for final exams.4
Free Dress DayOn Friday 16 October, Clemes will be having a free dress day to raise money for DiabetesTasmania. Diabetes Tasmania is an organisation whose main focus is improving the healthoutcomes for people with diabetes and supporting affected families. The day, which hasbeen organised by the Clemes Service Committee, will have a 'Jelly Baby' theme andstudents are encouraged to dress in 'Jelly Baby' colours for a $2 contribution.Leavers’ AssemblyNext Thursday, 15 October, we have our Leavers’ Assembly. This is at 12 Noon in theWN Oats Centre. At this Assembly leaving students will receive a Leaver's Certificate. Inaddition, Clemes Certificates, Music, Drama, Service, Sport and special awards will bepresented.
