Wherecondensation is a problem, <strong>for</strong> example some kitchens and bathrooms, use<strong>Dulux</strong> <strong>Trade</strong> Diamond Eggshell. Other colourswill vary.SURFACE PREPARATIONTo get the best results with <strong>Dulux</strong> <strong>Trade</strong> <strong>Vinyl</strong> <strong>Soft</strong><strong>Sheen</strong>, make sure surfaces to be painted aresound, clean, dry (new surfaces particularly mustbe fully dry).Remove all loose and defective paint. Specialprecautions should be taken during surfacepreparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over woodand metal as they may contain harmful lead.Where necessary, wash the surface to remove dirt,grease and powdery or dusty residues. Rinse withclean water and allow to dry. Seal surfaces thatremain powdery after thorough preparation with anappropriate plaster sealer.Where necessary, rub down and then wipe off witha damp, lint free cloth to avoid dust.Any surface defects should be filled with theappropriate Polycell <strong>Trade</strong> Polyfilla.SYSTEMS INFORMATIONSTIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. Seal new orbare surfaces with a thinned first coat of <strong>Dulux</strong><strong>Trade</strong> <strong>Vinyl</strong> <strong>Soft</strong> <strong>Sheen</strong> (up to 1 part clean water to5 parts paint). The normal finishing process is 2 fullcoats of <strong>Dulux</strong> <strong>Trade</strong> <strong>Vinyl</strong> <strong>Soft</strong> <strong>Sheen</strong>, but onpreviously painted surfaces in good conditionwhere similar colours are used, 1 coat may besufficient.For best colour consistency, purchase sufficienttinted paint <strong>for</strong> each job including touch-in at onetime from the same source.APPLICATION METHODBrush, roller, conventional spray or airless spray.As with other water-based paints, do not apply attemperatures below 8ºC (as recommended byBritish Standard BS 6150).


<strong>413</strong>VINYL SOFT SHEENPractical CoverageA guide to the practical coverage which can beachieved under normal conditions is up to 16m² perlitre.ThinningSealing new or bare surfaces: Add up to 1 partclean water to 5 parts paint.Normal use (not to be exceeded): Add up to 1part clean water to 10 parts paint.Conventional spray application: Add up to 1 partclean water to 5 parts paint.Airless spray application: Thinning is not required.Spray RecommendationsConventional Spray: Satisfactory through mostequipment.Airless Spray: A typical set up <strong>for</strong> airless spraywould be a minimum working pressure on paint of133 bars (2000lb/sq in) with a spray tip size of0.38mm (15 thou) and a spray tip angle of 65º.Cleaning UpAfter use, remove as much product as possiblefrom equipment be<strong>for</strong>e cleaning with water.When this paint container is empty please ask yourstockist about recycling. If you have leftover paint,please dispose of it responsibly and considerdonating it to Community RePaint.
