Since 1929 FHS has developed young people not only to be aware ofthe religious and ethical dimensions of living, but also to appreciate the humanperson. FHS has always emphasized the serious pursuit of study and lifelonglearning by emphasizing the classical approach in its curriculum; it has underscored asense of community and loyalty while preparing its young people for academicpursuits at the college level and beyond.Fenwick's overall mission has remained constant for over seventy-five years. Wewill continue to emphasize our traditions and values which must be an integral part ofevery Fenwick student's experience. Excellence and competitiveness will beimportant values to be attained in all that FHS undertakes in its academic, athleticand other extracurricular endeavors. Priority will continue to assure that appropriateresources are secured and maintained to meet Fenwick's goals and to assure that itsmission is adhered to.To sustain the mission we reaffirm the values of excellence, leadership and traditionwhich have always defined FHS:We will draw upon our Catholic tradition and the Dominican charism formeaning and direction in all our efforts and decisions;Fenwick is a special place because of all the dedicated people associated with it. Students,faculty, parents, friends and alumni have all contributed to the excellence that this institutionhas attained since 1929. Its great traditions continue today because of the high expectations itsstudents live up to, day in and day out.A student's registration at Fenwick High School is an expressed agreement, on the part of thatstudent and on the part of that student's parent(s) or guardian(s), to comply with the regulationsof the school outlined in this handbook. Students, parents and guardians must be familiar withthe contents of these regulations. Fenwick High School reserves the right to reviewunsatisfactory conduct with a view to suspension and/or expulsion, should this be justified.We will emphasize a strong self-discipline in our approach to academicsand cocurriculars;We will emphasize service to others and prepare our graduates to live asChristians in the world;We will challenge our students and ourselves with high expectations as westrive for excellence in all we do;We will sustain a first rate faculty and administration;We will maintain a diverse ethnic and socioeconomic population in ourstudent body.
