Reflections from the Middle SchoolAwhole year has pastand so much has beenaccomplished. It feels likeonly yesterday when we wereanxiously walking into our 8th gradeadvisory for the very first time.Together we navigated througha long year of learning, sprinkledwith a few hardships but moreimportantly filled with funand new adventures. Startingwith Outward Bound, we wentout of our comfort zone,conquering fears, and buildingan unforgettable bond withour advisory. Remember Verdun,walking through the trenches;Normandy visiting the U.S.cemetery and filling in the packet;Provence, getting raided by waterballoons by all the teachers orjumping in the freezing cold pool.All of these experiences broughtus closer together as one big class.Together we’ve been throughmany obstacles but many funnymoments, too.Remember the magical kingdomand getting sent to the dark forestwith Ms. Smith; or filling inthose problems of the week forMs. Rockwell; Ms. Trudeau alwaysrelating math through real lifesituations; painting the MexicanMurals with Mr. Herch; Mr Scanlonand all the great projects anddiscussions we had in class aboutworld issues or filling in thejournals for Provence withMadame Doyle and Madame Roy?Together we have come togetherand worked for a cause: thedevelopment in the Jyoti Schoolin Rishikesh, India. We organizedthree dances, held a Halloweenbake sale, and most importantly,put our best foot forward atthe Walk-a-Thon, raising a totalof 22,000 euros.Together we’ve arrived at theend of the school year – a bit taller,wiser, more confident and soready to celebrate our promotion.Our parents are proud of us andwe should be proud of ourselves.And, our teachers… well, they justmight miss our great personalities!Finally the time has come.We must move on and take a stepforward. But first, we must saythank you. To the amazing facultywho has been there for us everystep of the way, filling our brainswith knowledge, to our parents forsupporting us and making thingspossible, and to Ms. Miner andChantal for fixing our problems!The good news isthat WE AREREADY!
