This wouldadd about 2 minutes per session.It was confirmed that changing the date was complicated by bussing.Also moving the date earlier in the year is complicated by the 20 daysrequired to “balance the schedule.”Motion to change Back to School Schedule to run from 6:15 to 8:32,allowing 2 extra minutes per session.There was also an agreement that there should not be any additionalmeetings scheduled during the minimum days for Back to School Night tostay in compliance with TALB contract.• Curriculum CommitteeNo curriculum changes are anticipated primarily because there is noadditional money for books.Discussion also revolved around that counselors should not be making adhoc changes to the curriculum. Any changes must go through theCurriculum Committee. Part of this discussion focused on the classicalhigh school requirement of 4 years of the same foreign language, and thata number of students complete four years of foreign language, but not

four years of the same language. More info on the World Languagespolicy to follow.• Essays examples for Link Crew, Homecoming Court, Z-girls, etc.:There was a discussion about how to publicize what is expected formembers of these groups. Erin Fekjar discussed that these essays areonly a ‘part’ of the consideration for becoming members. It wasconcluded that improving the description of the groups, particularly on theActivities web page, would be the best solution.New Business:• Report Card Revision:Some faculty feel that the comment selections allowed on report cardsshould include “Excessive Talking.” There are constraints involving thenumber of choices the computer program allows. If “Excessive Talking”were added one of the existing choices would need to be eliminated.The discussion centered around which to eliminate, whether “Good Effort”and “Excellent Participation” are the same, what “No Materials” meansand does “Please Contact Teacher” cover the excessive talking issue.Rep’s to take it back to their dept.s and get suggestions.
