A set <strong>of</strong> table andchairs have been placed too close to the top <strong>of</strong> the steps whichcreate a toppling risk for pupils sat at the table. The Head hasagreed to rearrange the area. There is a small kitchen space inthis area that has a slightly raised floor resulting in a trip hazard.This Head has already made arrangements for this area to beleveled during half termSchool Kitchen: Extractor fan is not working and will need to berepairedFoundati<strong>on</strong> Stage classroom (F2 Robins): The shelving in thecloak area above the coat pegs is stacked with plastic boxesc<strong>on</strong>taining resources, some <strong>of</strong> which are reas<strong>on</strong>ably heavy.Some <strong>of</strong> these boxes will need to be moved to reduce thepressure <strong>on</strong> the shelves and prevent any from falling <strong>of</strong>f or theshelves giving way.Link Corridor: Approximately 10 boxes c<strong>on</strong>taining paper towelswere stacked in the corridor. Such “daisy chaining” should not be used. TheBuilding Manager corrected this during the tour <strong>of</strong> the site.IT Suite: Portable Electrical Testing (PAT) labels had beenattached to computers and other electrical equipment howeverthe majority <strong>of</strong> these labels were blank. The school needs toensure that the appropriate informati<strong>on</strong> is recorded <strong>on</strong> all thelabels at the time <strong>of</strong> testing.Caretakers Store: On examinati<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> the external caretakersstore a number <strong>of</strong> unlabelled plastic bottles were foundc<strong>on</strong>taining liquids. These need to be labeled and the c<strong>on</strong>tentsidentified. Moreover, a number <strong>of</strong> bottles and c<strong>on</strong>tainers werefound outside the store including Ant Killer. Such chemicalsshould be locked away at all times when not in use.Staff have been advised that “daisy chaining” must not happenunder any circumstancesThe PAT Testing Labels are to be completed with the relevanttesting dateCaretaker advised that all bottles must be labelled accordingly

It is recommended that thisis cut back as this path would be used as <strong>on</strong>e <strong>of</strong> the escaperoutes in case <strong>of</strong> a building evacuati<strong>on</strong>.Boiler Room: Being used as a storage area. Christmasdecorati<strong>on</strong>s and other materials stored in this locati<strong>on</strong> need tobe removed as they pose a fire risk. The Boiler room door is afire door and is <strong>on</strong> a self close but does fully close. This needs tobe repaired.Ground Floor Ladies Toilet: Part <strong>of</strong> the wooden boxing isdamaged and a large amount <strong>of</strong> toilet tissue has been packedinto the boxing. This needs to be removed and the boxingrepaired.The external path will be cleared ASAP alsoAll grounds maintenance will be reviewed <strong>on</strong> site and cut backaccordingly.The Boiler room door has now been repaired and closes fully.All storage items are to be removed from the boiler room and anotice has been put in place asking any<strong>on</strong>e to remove any lastitems before they are removed by Facilities Management.Wooden boxing has been repaired and toilet tissue removedfrom the boxing.


Health, Welfare and Safety Panel <strong>Visits</strong>Date 21 st <strong>September</strong> <strong>2012</strong>14:45 Godric Green Community CentrePresent: Adrian Tomlin(Building Manager), Maria Watts(Neighborhood Champi<strong>on</strong>)The Portable Electrical Testing (PAT) <strong>of</strong> equipment was out <strong>of</strong>date. It was due <strong>on</strong> 03/12. This needs to be completed ASAP.There was no hand wash or soap in the ladies toilets. Thisneeds to be provided.Part <strong>of</strong> the exteriors walls <strong>of</strong> the building are clad with pan tiles.Some <strong>of</strong> the tiles are broken and although they pose noimmediate risk they will need replacing at some point in thefuture. Similarly some <strong>of</strong> the external wood paneling near themain entrance has started to rot. This will need to be addressedin the near future.The PAT testing has been chased up with Billy Brooks’s teamand will be undertaken ASAP.Facilities Services will be made aware <strong>of</strong> the situati<strong>on</strong> regardingthe wash soap.The exteriors <strong>of</strong> the building will be m<strong>on</strong>itored closely over thenext few m<strong>on</strong>ths. The pan tiles will be replaced accordingly alsoany rot replaced and spliced in to maintain the exterior
