GlossaryDīpaṃkara – Sanskirt name <strong>of</strong> the Primordial Buddha,a Buddha that existed before the commonly known historicalŚākyamuni Buddha. In an age before the historical Buddha attainedhis enlightenment, Dīpaṃkara Buddha gave the historical Buddhaa chance to begin his spiritual journey towards Buddhahood.Śākya – The name <strong>of</strong> the original historical Buddha’s tribe,contained within his name <strong>of</strong> Śākyamuni.
