IX.Introduce <strong>the</strong> checking <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> level <strong>of</strong> knowledge <strong>of</strong> <strong>intellectual</strong> <strong>property</strong>rights at <strong>the</strong> Judicial ExamLawyers who choose to work in courts or as advocates, in legal representation, have <strong>the</strong>obligation to pass <strong>the</strong> Judicial Exam be<strong>for</strong>e <strong>the</strong> Ministry <strong>of</strong> Justice. At <strong>the</strong> moment, <strong>the</strong><strong>intellectual</strong> <strong>property</strong> law does not exist as a subject at that exam, and <strong>the</strong> subject matterhas not been adequately represented on o<strong>the</strong>r subjects such as Civil Law and CommercialLaw. In order to make judges and advocates more aware <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> importance <strong>of</strong> <strong>intellectual</strong><strong>property</strong> in <strong>the</strong>ir work, it is necessary to check <strong>the</strong>ir knowledge at <strong>the</strong> Judicial Exam withregard to this field <strong>of</strong> knowledge. As it is nor realistic to introduce <strong>the</strong> IntellectualProperty Right as a special subject, it is reasonable to pay more attention to this subjectmatter in <strong>the</strong> framework <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Civil Law or Commercial Law.X. Introduce <strong>the</strong> studies <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Law on Intellectual Property at <strong>the</strong> JudicialAcademyThe Judicial Academy has recently been established in Serbia with <strong>the</strong> aim, among o<strong>the</strong>rthings, to innovate permanently knowledge <strong>of</strong> judges and public prosecutors with <strong>the</strong> aimto increase efficiency and expert level <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir work. In <strong>the</strong> framework <strong>of</strong> program <strong>of</strong>work <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Judicial Academy, <strong>the</strong> Intellectual Property Law must find its special place.XI.Support <strong>the</strong> introduction <strong>of</strong> subject matter on <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> <strong>intellectual</strong> <strong>property</strong>at <strong>the</strong> technical, economic, agricultural and management faculties and artcollegesThe students at <strong>the</strong> faculties <strong>of</strong> technology and art have a special need <strong>for</strong> certain level <strong>of</strong>knowledge in <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> <strong>intellectual</strong> <strong>property</strong>. Future engineers must, from <strong>the</strong> verybeginning <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir pr<strong>of</strong>essional career, be aware <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> legal and economic problems <strong>of</strong>creativity in <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> technology. As an analogy, this holds true <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> future creatorsin <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> culture and art to whom copyright and related rights represent one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>basis <strong>of</strong> economic existence. There<strong>for</strong>e, curriculums <strong>of</strong> technical and art faculties mustcontain certain <strong>for</strong>ms <strong>of</strong> tuition <strong>of</strong> <strong>intellectual</strong> <strong>property</strong>, which would be adapted to <strong>the</strong>specific features <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir future pr<strong>of</strong>ession.XII.Connect Education and In<strong>for</strong>mation Centre <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Office with <strong>the</strong> universities,o<strong>the</strong>r educational institutions, scientific and <strong>development</strong> organizations andchambers <strong>of</strong> commerce <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> sake <strong>of</strong> coordinating educational activities in<strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> <strong>intellectual</strong> <strong>property</strong>The Office, through its Education and In<strong>for</strong>mation Centre must get <strong>the</strong> coordination role<strong>for</strong> all sorts <strong>of</strong> educational activities in <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> <strong>intellectual</strong> <strong>property</strong>, which are notincluded in <strong>the</strong> curriculum at <strong>the</strong> accredited educational institutions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Republic <strong>of</strong>Serbia. That role implies <strong>the</strong> connection with <strong>the</strong> universities, o<strong>the</strong>r educationalinstitutions, scientific and <strong>development</strong> organizations and chambers <strong>of</strong> commerce <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>41
