Golden Eagle tend to be limited to fewlocations in the Study Area with relatively low annual activity (Jacques Whitford 2008). Of the 18Golden Eagle nests identified for the 2011 survey, three were active (16.7%).Bald Eagle are more common in the Study Area, although their distribution is discontinuous. Interms of recent surveys, 11 of 43 (25.6%) were active in 2008 (Jacques Whitford 2008), four of38 (10.5%) were active in 2009 (Jacques Whitford Stantec Limited 2009), 15 of 45 (33.3%) wereactive in 2010 (Stassinu Stantec 2010). The 2011 survey of 57 nests resulted in 11 active nests(19.3%).There were twenty-two other species of wildlife observed during the 2011 surveys: sevenmammal species and fifteen species of avifauna, as well as one unidentified raptor.
