DESIGNATIONS6.1 Listed buildingsThere are two Grade I Listed Buildings within the defined urban area for Hornby, StMargaret’s Church and Hornby Castle. There is also one Grade II* structure, the Anglo-Saxon cross shaft within St Margaret’s churchyard.There are 25 Grade II listed structures within the town. Of these, fifteen are domesticdwellings, listed both as individual buildings and in groups. Domestic structures,particularly those pre-dating the mid-nineteenth century, are therefore well representedgiven the small size of the defined urban area. This reflects the large number of prenineteenth-centuryand higher status houses present in Hornby.6.2 Scheduled monumentsThere is one scheduled monument within the defined urban area for Hornby, HornbyBridge, which is also a Grade II listed structure.6.3 Conservation areasThere is one conservation area within the defined urban area for Hornby.
