Before using your EasyClean Snack MakerBefore using your EasyClean Snack Maker forthe first time, the non-stick cooking platesmust be seasoned. Turn the power ON andpre-heat your EasyClean Snack Maker untilthe Ready Light illuminates.Wipe a small amount of butter onto theplates, rub lightly and wipe away any excess.1. Insert the plug into 230 or 240 voltoutlet.2. Turn the power ON and preheat yourEasyClean Snack Maker until the Readylight illuminates.NOTE: When using your <strong>Sunbeam</strong> Easy CleanSnack Maker for the first time you may noticea fine smoke haze being emitted from theunit. This is normal. It is due to the initialheating of internal components.Toasting Sandwiches1. Always pre-heat your EasyClean SnackMaker until the Ready Light Illuminatesbefore use.2. Always butter the outside of the bread. Thesandwich filling will be placed between theunbuttered sides of the bread.3. Place the buttered side of the breadonto the cooking plate, then spoon therecommended quantity of filling onto thebread.4. Place the top slice of bread on top ofthe filling with the buttered side facingupwards.5. Gently close the lid until the two handlesclose together. Click the latch into positionto keep the Snack Maker securely closedduring toasting. DO NOT FORCE THE LIDCLOSED (if the lid is difficult to close youmay have too much filling, or your breadslices may be too thick).Note: Ensure that the cord is kept well awayfrom the cooking plates when in use.6. Allow the sandwiches to toast forapproximately 3 minutes, depending onthe bread, filling and personal taste. YourSnack Maker toasts both sides of bread atthe same time and seals in the filling.7. The cooking plates are coated with adurable non-stick coating. Some fillingssuch as cheese, may melt and cause thesandwich to stick to the cook plates. Tofree the sandwich use a plastic spatula orwooden spoon. Never use a sharp objector metal as this will damage the non-sticksurface.Note: The warm up and Ready lights arethermostatically controlled and will cycleduring cooking to ensure that the correcttemperature is maintained.3
