Monitoring and Assessing Progress on Decent Work in Bangladesh

ILO/EC Project “<strong>Monitoring</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Assessing</strong> <strong>Progress</strong>on Decent Work” (MAP)<strong>Monitoring</strong> <strong>and</strong> assessing progress towards decent work is a longst<strong>and</strong>ingconcern for the ILO <strong>and</strong> its constituents. Implemented by theILO with funding from the European Union, the project “<strong>Monitoring</strong><strong>and</strong> <strong>Assessing</strong> <strong>Progress</strong> on Decent Work” (MAP) helps to addressthis need. Over a period of four years (2009 to 2013), the projectworks with Ministries of Labour, National Statistical Offices, otherGovernment agencies, Workers’ <strong>and</strong> Employers’ organisations <strong>and</strong>research institutions to strengthen the capacity of developing <strong>and</strong>transition countries to self-monitor <strong>and</strong> self-assess progress towardsdecent work. The project facilitates the identification of Decent WorkIndicators in line with national priorities; supports data collection; <strong>and</strong>assists in the analysis of data on decent work in order to make themrelevant for policy makers.
