Chapter 9. Contention Window resettingFigure 9.21: RTS threshold equal to 3000 bytes: Total packets received of the eDRA, NIAMac, andmobiNIAMac against the DCF standard (STD)mance than eDRA and NIAMac. The uncontrolled behavior of the DCF results inthe dead of all nodes at 18 seconds, while the other protocols keep on living. Wecan also see that NIAMac and eDRA are competing with each other to have thebest throughput. But NIAMac has a longer lifetime than eDRA. That is the reasonwhy we combined eDRA with NIAMac to form mobileNIAMac. The mobiNIA-Mac has the best performance of all of them and the longest lifetime. This simulation verifies that it is worth to combine the NIAMac with the mobilityconcept of the eDRA protocol.170
