DC won the first two games before dropping the finale of the serieson Sunday. The victories improved the Darton record to 13-11 overall and 5-3 inregion play. In Saturday’s victory, Trent Dooly homered and sophomore TaylorWhitenton improved his record by picking up the victory on the mound for DC.Levi Futo took the hill for game two and was credited with the victory for theCavs.In Sunday’s loss, the Cavs rallied from a 9-0 deficit only to fall 11-10.Sophomore Chris Ramos hit a three run homer in the eight inning to provide theCavaliers some hope of the comeback. On Sunday DC was led at the plate byKelly Williams (2-3, three runs), Tagg Lanier (2-for-5), and Trent Dooly (2-5, tworuns, RBI).Earlier in the week Darton had its four game winning streak snapped byGloucester CC. After battling back yet again to tie the game late, DC allowed tworuns in the top of the ninth in the 6-4 loss.Luis Cintron and Kelly Williams both went 3-for-4 with doubles and an RBI in theloss to Gloucester. Military6-5 W14-3 WNatalia Morozova was the winning pitcher in Game 1, while Stephanie Martin gotthe nod in Game 2 to help Darton improve to 14-5 on the season. Morozovapitched five innings giving up one earned run while striking out three.At the plate for DC in game one, Brittney Novickis went 2-3 with a double and ahome run. Hannah Layton was 2-3 as well with a double and 2RBI.Martin pitched nearly four innings in the second game victory, allowing zeroearned runs while scattering five hits and striking out one. Morozova was 2-3 atthe plate with two runs scored. Destiny Echols 1-2 with two walks and three runsscored. Brittney Novickis 2-2 with three RBI and two runs scored. Kayla Baughtwo hits including a grand slam and five RBI.
