My name is Karina de Medina.This is my 5 th year working as teacher in Spanish in MYP in the International School of Älmhult.In Language B the groups are divided in Phases. The students are settled in the different Phasesaccording to their knowledge about the Subject (independently from their MYP grade).In Phase 1 we are working with the Unit 1 Myself.We are working with the Unit Question: • Who are we?Our Significant Concept is: Learning a Language helps us to build relationships.Our Area of Interaction is from Health & Social Education – Learning basic sentences will makeus able to interact and start new relationships with Spanish speakers.In this Unit the students will:Learn the alphabet and numbersLearn informal greetings and introductionsPresent TenseVerb “To be “ : “Ser” / “Estar”NationalitiesPrepositions: de=from, en =in,Learn the professionsNext Wednesday 9 th ,October the students that are NOT in MYP 1 will have their first Assessmenton Criterion D:Writing. The students will describe a family presented in a picture and theirown family.On Thursday , October, 10 th they will have an oral Assessment introducing their own or a fictitiousfamily.
