04 <strong>LUMS</strong>ContribunalA plaque unveiling ceremony was held at <strong>LUMS</strong> on January 19,2012 to commemorate the inauguration <strong>of</strong> the Millat TractorsAuditorium at the School <strong>of</strong> Science and Engineering.The Chairman <strong>of</strong> the Millat Group <strong>of</strong> Companies, Mr. Sikandar M.Khan, along with Mr. Sohail Bashir Rana, Mr. Latif Khalid Hashmiand Mr. Irfan Aqueel were present at the occasion. They werejoined by Syed Babar Ali, Pro Chancellor, <strong>LUMS</strong>; Dr. Adil Najam,Vice Chancellor, <strong>LUMS</strong>; Dr. Sohail Qureshi, Dean, SSE and the<strong>LUMS</strong> Fundraising team. Speaking at the occasion, Syed BabarAli acknowledged the generous contribution <strong>of</strong> the Millat Group tothe <strong>University</strong>. He also appreciated Mr. Sikandar Khan for comingforward to support <strong>LUMS</strong> <strong>of</strong> his own desire instead <strong>of</strong> being approachedby Syed Babar Ali. Mr. Abbas D. Habib, Chief Executive <strong>of</strong> Bank Al-Habib and Syed Babar Ali, Pro Chancellor <strong>LUMS</strong>, signed the MoU inKarachi. 10 NOP scholars will be financed through this gift. Recipients<strong>of</strong> these scholarships will be called Rashid D. Habib Scholars.Younus Amin Scholarship FundMr. Younus Amin has generously extended his support to <strong>LUMS</strong>by agreeing to fund one NOP scholar for the complete duration <strong>of</strong>the undergraduate programme.Umair Chaprha scholarship fundMr. Umair Chaprha, Director, G.P. Works, came forward to supportthe <strong>LUMS</strong> development initiative, National Outreach Programme,by setting up a fund for one NOP scholar enrolled in theSchool <strong>of</strong> Science and Engineering.and faculty.
