The Philippineand Cambodian populations differ in somemorphometric and qualitative morphologicalcharacters. Twenty-three morphometric characterswere measured in the Cambodian populationand in material from the type locality, Lake Lanao(Tables 1, 2). Dice-Leraas diagrams (Fig. 5)point to the separation of the 2 populations in thelengths of the body, caudal rami, inner terminalcaudal seta (S2), and dorsal caudal seta (S5).A t-test confirmed significant differences in themeans of these traits (body length: n = 15, p < 0.01;length of caudal rami: n = 15, p < 0.01; lengthof s2: n = 15, p < 0.01; and length of s5: n = 15,p < 0.01) between Cambodian and Philippinefemales. The qualitative morphological charactersof the Cambodian specimens however almost fullymatch those of females from Lake Lanao, with onlythe ornamentation of the P4 coupler and tip of S2differing between them. In Cambodian females(Fig. 7B), the P4 coupler bears 2 rows of hairs (inthe middle and next to the distal margin), while inPhilippine specimens, 1 hair-row appears near thedistal margin and 1 row of spinule-like elementsis present in the middle (Fig. 4D).
