APPRAISAL AND DEVELOPMENT DRILLING :<strong>Puffin</strong>-2, located 9 km southwest of <strong>Puffin</strong>-1, flowed oil at 4,608 bbls/day on DST over the interval2,028-2,036 mKB in the Bathurst Island Group.<strong>Puffin</strong>-3, located 3 km northeast of <strong>Puffin</strong>-1, recovered oil on <strong>RFT</strong> from the same oil bearing interval (3m gross pay) in the Late Cretaceous section.<strong>Puffin</strong>-4, drilled 450 m southeast of <strong>Puffin</strong>-3, intersected the same Upper Cretaceous sandstone, butwireline logs showed that only the upper 0.7 m of the reservoir (2,099.8 – 2,100.5 mKB) had significanthydrocarbon saturations (20%).RESERVES:Oil:42 MMbblsSource: Northern Territory Department of Business Industry and Resource Development,2000.REMARKS:Log analysis in <strong>Puffin</strong>-1 indicated a heavy, sour crude oil is trapped in vuggy calcarenites andargillaceous calcilutites of Eocene age between 1,021 mKB and 1,029 mKB.
