<strong>FINAL</strong> <strong>REPORT</strong>Development of a Child Rights Methodology to Identify and Support Child Victims of Trafficking<strong>FINAL</strong> <strong>REPORT</strong>Development of a Child Rights Methodology to Identify and Support Child Victims of TraffickingSlavery: slavery and slavery-like practices are interpreted using <strong>the</strong> definition given inarticle 1 of <strong>the</strong> Geneva Convention on Slavery 13 and <strong>the</strong> UN Supplementary Conventionon <strong>the</strong> Abolition of Slavery, <strong>the</strong> Slave Trade, and Institutions and Practices similar toSlavery 14 . Those institutions or practices include debt bondage, serfdom and “anyinstitution or practice whereby a child or young person under <strong>the</strong> age of 18 years, isdelivered by ei<strong>the</strong>r or both of his natural parents or by his guardian to ano<strong>the</strong>r person,whe<strong>the</strong>r for reward or not, with a view to <strong>the</strong> exploitation of <strong>the</strong> child or young personor of his labour” 15 .Servitude: it is regarded as a particular form of slavery which does not present <strong>the</strong>ownership features characteristics of slavery.
