Strong, tear resistant, stretch resistant andreinforced…High-strength,resilient TyveksMechanically toughPE White StrongsTyveks are a top choice for applications where lessrobust paper or film labels can be prone to damage.Missing labels or illegible information mean thatproducts can’t be identified; they are rejected byquality control, or subsequently can’t be sold or used.Tyveks are the solution. White, matt and with a paperlikeappearance, a polyolefin fibre construction makesthese materials extremely strong. They have excellentresistance to outdoor weathering and chemicals, andprovide an exceptionally long lifespan.Keep your costs and margins under control with Tyveks, reinforce your position as a solution provider, andorient more customers to your business.Tyvek Brillon 55 and Tyvek 75 are typically suppliedinto end-uses where the label wraps around items andadheres back onto itself – flag labels, for instance, inapplications like cable-bunching.Both products are printable with conventional methods, and Tyvek Brillon 55 provides a good overprint bythermal transfer without applying an additional coating.Tyvek Brillon 55 is suitable for typical applications, andTyvek 75 is the optimal choice when labels requiregood lay-flat characteristics. Our PE White Strongs offer a secure solution for carryinghandles – particularly for reinforcing handles on paper or plasticstore carrier bags. Often, the weight consumers carry is likelyto elongate the basic handles formed from holes. This risks lostor damaged goods, causes discomfort, and makes the bagsuitable for one-time use only. A reinforced handle solvesall these problems very effectively.PE White Strongs also function as a handle in themselves, when applied to bags of pet food, compost or charcoal, forinstance. They make life easier for consumers carrying goodsfrom supermarkets to households, with convenience makinga positive brand impression and a purchase more likely. To prevent bags from tearing or to assist goods handling, these materials are constructed from cross-laminated HDPE layersfor very high tear-resistance which persists even if the label hasbeen damaged or cut. Build your profile as a safe and reliablesupplier for applications where failure isn’t an option. Achievemore orders and regular volumes as the proper pathway tosustained higher sales. Our PE White Strong 165 is designed to produce thick andrigid labels with high performance for heavier loads. PE WhiteStrong 75 offers a good balance of performance and efficiencyfor standard and lighter applications. PE White Strong 75 isclay-coated to provide a high-quality printable surface, andPE White Strong 165 is corona-treated for reliable print results.3

Stiffer and stretch-resistant PPsCreasing ruins an otherwise perfect label. Paper facesin contact with moisture or contaminants are at risk oflosing their print or complete destruction. Both hazards are mitigated by our thick polypropylenes(PPs). High stiffness, good dimensional stability and verygood resistance to water, oil and chemicals protect yourlabel’s functionality and appearance. Our PP Matt White TC materials (100, 130 and 180microns) feature an attractive matt finish. These gradesare a good choice for large-sized labels, horticulturalflags and any label requiring good stiffness andresistance to environmental conditions. For direct thermal printing, Synthermal Clear andSynthermal P 200 introduce tough options withinnovative looks for applications where paper facesmay tear or suffer damage. When you satisfy customerswith a level of product performance that fully coverstheir needs, the added value justifies the prices thatimprove your margins.Tear-resistant reinforced papersFilm-reinforced paper labels offer improved mechanicalresistance and, compared to solid films, are the waythat’s most economical. These reinforced papersproduce labels and flexible tags with excellent tearresistanceeven when stapled or nailed.Whether on pallets in logistics and transportapplications, luggage tags or wrist bands for eventadmission, these materials and the vital informationthey carry stay intact. Our reinforced papers alsoperform well as hanger labels for bagged items inretail, and as carrying handles on small packages, cartons and shrink-wrapped multipack items.Thermal Eco 300 Strong, Thermal Top P 200 Strongand our Luggage Tags are printable by direct thermal, and our Transfer Strong by thermal transfer.4

Click on ‘Labelling solutions’on the front page of the UPM Raflatacwebsite, and follow the link to ‘FastWeb’.All common materials are unstable at high temperatures.Heat Tag 145 is an outstanding exception – providingvery good dimensional stability, very high stiffness and alsogood tear resistance at temperatures exceeding 500 °C.This white, coated polyimide film with good TTR propertiesis also light-weight, flexible and resistant to chemicals. HeatTag 145 is undoubtedly our best option for industrial tagsor identification tags in the iron and steel industries. For direct thermal variable information tagging with superiorwater and tear resistance, our best choice for hang tagsand routing tags is Synthermal P 200 Tag. This top-coatedPP is reinforced with HDPE in cross-laminated layers. For dry conditions we offer several direct thermal paperssolid-laminated with a fibrillated 100-micron MOPP film.Thermal Eco Tag, Thermal Eco Tag Extra and Thermal EcoTag Strong offer a very good balance of performance andefficiency for fruit tags, hang tags and routing tags.
